Sizing things up...

Our recent excursion on the Eagle Creek trail has reminded me of one of the "biggest" reasons I enjoy backpacking....it reminds me how truly small we really are. It seems like everything thing that surrounds us most of the day is scaled down to human size...our cars, offices, convenience stores... unless we jump on a cruise ship, or visit a skyscraper, we are pretty much living in a tailor made world.

Nature is one thing that can really put our true size in the world in perspective. For me it is awe inspiring, humbling, exciting...and some times scary. Capturing this feeling in a picture is almost impossible...but here are a few that attempt it, there is a person in each picture.

The first shot is Jake by Tunnel Falls, off of Eagle creek trail. The rest; Prairie Creek Redwoods, The Hoh river valley, and Sawtooth ridge.
